This book is part of the project “Post-Socialist Britain? Memory, Representation and Political Identity amongst German, Polish and Ukrainian Immigrants in the UK”, which examines how migration impacts the relationship between collective memory and political identity. The project is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. The book is about the stories of Polish people who moved to the UK. It's divided into eight chapters that focus on different parts of their lives. It aims to provide insight into their experiences and challenges and to inspire empathy and understanding of the diverse stories of migrants around the world. The illustrations are mainly inspired by images taken by participants in the Central European Photography Club, a series of workshops that took place in West Bromwich and Hyson Green as part of the project.
